Use Case: Early error detection through simulated data interfaces

A test team is preparing to test a new import interface. The counterpart is not yet available, but the data structure is already defined. Using the Test Data Generator, fields are created with the desired data types – including a proportion of erroneous records.

The generated data is output as JSON or XML. Through integration with the Webhook Tester, the data can be sent directly to a webhook. There, headers and payload of incoming requests can be viewed immediately.

This allows content errors to be checked before a counterpart is available. Especially early in a project, initial error cases can be caught and fixed before the actual tests with the counterpart begin.

The Webhook Tester can be accessed both from the Test Data Generator and from an external tool. By saving profiles in the Test Data Generator, repeatable scenarios can be built.
