Use Case: Converting exported system data for interface testing

A tester receives a CSV export with product data from an ERP system. This data needs to be sent as XML to a REST interface to simulate an import. Instead of manually writing XML, the tester uploads the CSV file to the Mapping Generator.

All columns of the CSV file are automatically detected and displayed in the Mapping Designer. Here, field names can be adjusted, data types assigned and the target structure for XML or JSON defined. Configuration is done entirely through the web interface.

Once the mapping is set up, it is saved as a profile. This allows the tester to instantly convert future CSV exports with the same structure – only the content changes, the mapping remains in place.

Combined with the logging tool in the Pro+ plan, it is possible to track which files were converted and when. If the converted data contained errors, older conversions can be retrieved and compared – particularly helpful for error analysis before re-importing.
